Antennas available in select stores

BURLINGTON, Iowa (Oct. 22, 2013) – Television antenna pioneer Winegard Company has reached an agreement with the Fred Meyer Stores, a division of The Kroger Co, to sell the high-tech FlatWave® and FlatWave® Mini over-the-air antennas to consumers at stores in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska.

These indoor antennas are ideal for the increasing number of Americans (currently at nearly 60 million) who rely exclusively on over-the-air broadcast signals to watch TV. They also appeal to anyone who wants to cut the cord and save up to $1,300 per year on cable or satellite TV bills. According to a recent study by GfK Media, nearly 6 percent of TV homes have cut the cord, primarily to save money.

The Winegard FlatWave digital TV antenna features a patented design that receives free HD broadcasts over both VHF and UHF spectrums. The FlatWave has a razor thin, hide-away design for indoor use and comes with 15 ft. of mini coax cable for optimal placement. It has a simple plug in and play set up and does not require a professional installer.

A smaller, but equally innovative UHF antenna, the FlatWave Mini, has the same capabilities as the FlatWave but is about half the size. Both antennas weigh less than two ounces, but produce a near Blu-ray® quality picture and the lowest noise (interference) signal in their class on the market. These antennas hang on a wall or a window, or lay flat on any hard surface and fit with any décor.

"We're excited that the Fred Meyer Stores, a division of The Kroger Co., is the latest retailer to offer our best-selling, advanced digital TV antennas in its stores at a great retail price," said Winegard National Sales Manager Grant Whipple. "Just as Winegard is a pioneer in the TV antenna market, Fred Meyer Stores, a division of The Kroger Co., was a pioneer in the one-stop shopping industry, creating some of the very first superstores in the U.S. It joins another top retailer, Costco, in offering our state-of-the-art digital TV antennas."

Winegard takes great pride in being more than just an assembler, marketing its antennas as "Made in the U.S.A."
