Certificate of Conformity Opens Markets in former Soviet Republics for Winegard
BURLINGTON, Iowa – (September 18, 2012) – Winegard Company’s, WX980 and WX1200 VSAT antenna systems and controllers have received GOST-R certification from the Euro-Asian Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification. The council is maintained by the 12 nations of the former Soviet republics, including Russia, and is now referred to as the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Winegard is a major U.S. manufacturer of reliable VSAT (very small aperture terminal) satellite communications systems frequently used in remote locations.
A GOST-R Certificate of Conformity, issued by the council, basically verifies that products meet specific safety standards for the clearance of customs and sale inside the countries of the Commonwealth. This means the two Winegard VSAT antenna systems and controllers can now be sold throughout the Commonwealth member countries.
The .98 meter WX980 and the 1.2 meter W1200 VSAT systems and their controllers are primarily deployed on the roofs of emergency vehicles, disaster recovery vehicles, satellite news gathering vehicles, tour buses and trailers often in extreme environments.
Winegard VSAT systems and controllers are operational worldwide, including the countries of Canada, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Columbia, Saudi Arabia and Mexico.
A pioneer in antenna, auto signal acquisition and tracking technology, Winegard has designed more than 1,000 different consumer and industrial antenna models and has been granted more than 60 U.S. patents.
