Wirecutter Upgrade? I don't think so.
I was excited to receive my antenna, plugged in the amplifier and booted up the app. I carefully adjusted the position until the app said it had found 220 channels. I excitedly turned on the TV and set it to scanning... 2 channels. I went through this three times, made sure of every connection. Then I called support, their first response, it was my fault, nothing in particular, but it couldn't be the antenna they told me, I must be doing something wrong. I plugged in my old antenna, and received about 100 channels or so, then plugged this one back in and 2. Support continued to accuse me of doing something wrong. Then they told me I had purchased the wrong antenna, I needed the non-amplified antenna because I must be too close to the broadcast towers (funny they said that because they couldn't find Washington, DC on a map, and when I said that's where I lived they told me the problem was I wasn't in the United States...?). So I gave up and returned it. I will chalk up the $16 in shipping costs to life lesson learned.
