Pre-Amp and Coupler
Date Modified: 09.24.09

Question:

I would like to use a pre-amp and coupler on a two antenna system, only one antenna needs amplification.

The Winegard manual says, "it is strongly reccommended that the power injector be installed between the pre-amp and combiner input".

So that means: antenna, pre-amp, power injector, then coupler- then insert/coax to TV?

Can I not put the power injector after the coupler (just before the TV), when using the Winegard coupler that has power pass on one port (7870)?

Tech Tip:

You can use the CC-7870 coupler between the preamplifier and the power supply. Be sure the preamplifier is connected to the set 1 side which is the power passive side.
