AP-8700 - Input voltage
Date Modified: 04.16.09

Question:
I am in the process of replacing my TV antenna and I would like to use a Winegard AP-8700 preamp. The power supply I am using is rated at 18 VDC. The cable distance between the antenna and the power supply is about 55 feet, so the voltage as applied at the antenna location will be less, almost certainly 17V, or possibly slightly less. I am unable to look up the input voltage specifications for the AP-8700.

Tech Tip:
All Winegard preamplifiers have voltage regulator in them to regulate the incoming DC voltage to the +12 VDC used in the amplifier. As long as you have at least +12VDC at the input of the preamp you should be fine.
