BC-7820 - DTV question
Date Modified: 04.17.09

Question:
We have been using a Winegard BC-7820 for 23 years! It has worked flawlessly. Currently, the antenna (also a Winegard in service for 23 years!) is connected to the BC-7820 and the outputs for the BC-7820 are fed to a series of splitters to distribute the antenna signal throughout my house. With the advent of DTV will I be able to connect the antenna to a converter box and the output of the converter box to the BC-7820? This would maintain the current configuration.

Tech Tip:

Yes, your antenna and BC-7820 will work for the HDTV signals. However you will NOT be able to install the converter box ahead of your BC-7820. The reason being is that the converter box is controlled by infrared signal which means that the converter and controller must be in the same room. Also you can only see one channel at a time with these converter boxes. This means that you will need multiple boxes for multiple TVs.
